WhatsApp Business Platform Price Updates from January 2026

By Wednesday November 26th, 2025 No Comments

Meta would like to share important updates to WhatsApp Business Platform pricing and billing that will take effect starting January 1, 2026. These changes are designed to help businesses better manage messaging costs, especially in markets experiencing currency fluctuations, while continuing to ensure WhatsApp remains a strong and valuable communication channel.

What’s Changing in 2026

Beginning January 1, 2026, Meta may adjust rates up to once per quarter, in line with our pricing calendar. Below is an overview of the updates taking effect in specific markets.

1. Utility & Authentication Messages

  • Rates will be updated in one market.
  • Meta will continue offering volume tiers so customers can unlock lower pricing as they scale.
  • Utility messages sent within the 24-hour customer service window in response to users will remain free.
  • Non-Marketing (NonMM): Rate decrease in North America.

2. Marketing Messages

Marketing message rates will change in three markets:

  • India: Increase
  • France: Decrease
  • Egypt: Decrease

Meta is continuing to invest in improving marketing message performance. Recent enhancements—such as text truncation and tappable preview headers—have increased click-through rates by an average of 14%.

We also introduced the Marketing Messages API for WhatsApp (formerly MM Lite API). Thanks to automatic optimizations and more dynamic message limits, high-engagement messages reach more customers. In India, highly-engaged messages saw up to 9% higher messages delivered compared to Cloud API.

New Currency and Billing Enhancements

To help customers better manage costs, Meta is introducing the following updates:

1. Additional Supported Currencies

  • 10 new currencies will be added in 2026.
  • A total of 16 currencies will be available by the second half of 2026.
  • Customers wishing to use a new currency can do so by creating a new WABA and selecting it during setup.

2. Local Billing in India and Brazil

  • Local billing will launch in India and Brazil, allowing eligible customers to be billed and pay Meta’s local entity in their local currency.
  • In India, local billing will begin on January 1, 2026, and the Country Specific Non-Ads Terms will be updated on this date.
